Moxie Counselling

Hi, I’m Fiona.

If you’ve found your way here, there’s a good chance you’ve spent a long time feeling misunderstood.

Maybe you’re questioning whether you’re autistic or ADHD. Maybe you’ve been diagnosed later in life and you’re trying to make sense of everything. Maybe you’re grieving, burnt out, anxious, navigating trauma, or simply exhausted from trying to be the version of yourself everyone else seemed more comfortable with.

Or maybe life has just become… a lot.

Whatever’s brought you here, you’re welcome.

I’m an autistic and ADHD therapist who believes therapy should feel like the one place you don’t have to perform. You don’t need to make eye contact if you don’t want to. You don’t need to have the right words. You don’t need to worry about saying the “wrong” thing.

You just need to show up as you are.

I work with people from all walks of life, but I have a particular passion for supporting late-diagnosed autistic and ADHD adults, LGBTQIA+ clients, people navigating grief, trauma, identity, and those who have spent years believing they were “too much” or “not enough.”

My job isn’t to fix you.

It’s to help you understand yourself with a little more compassion than the world perhaps has.

You might know me as @the.audhd.therapist on TikTok. If you’ve found your way here from one of my videos - welcome.

About me

I’m Fiona,

I’m autistic, ADHD, non-binary, a therapist, a mum, and a human before anything else.

Like many of my clients, I wasn’t always understood. My own experiences of late diagnosis, trauma, grief, navigating the world as a neurodivergent person, and existing outside of the boxes society seems to prefer, are a huge part of why I do this work.

Not because I think my experiences are the same as yours.

But because I know what it feels like to spend years wondering why life seems so much harder than it appears to be for everyone else.

That lived experience sits alongside my professional training, it doesn’t replace it. Together, they’ve shaped the therapist I am today.

My Approach

I’m a humanistic counsellor, which means I don’t believe there’s one “right” way to be.

I believe you are the expert in your own life.

Sometimes my role is to help you untangle years of self-doubt. Sometimes it’s making sense of a diagnosis. Sometimes it’s sitting with grief that feels impossible to carry. Sometimes it’s celebrating the moments when you finally start trusting yourself again.

Therapy with me isn’t about becoming someone different.

It’s about understanding who you’ve always been underneath everything you’ve had to survive.

The People I Work With

I work with adults experiencing all sorts of challenges, including anxiety, trauma, grief, abuse, relationships, identity, burnout and life transitions.

Many of my clients are late-diagnosed autistic or ADHD adults, LGBTQIA+ people, or those questioning whether neurodivergence might explain experiences they’ve never had words for.

You don’t need to fit into one particular box to work with me.

You just need to feel that what you’ve read here resonates.

What You Can Expect

You can expect warmth.

Honesty.

Humour (and yes, I do swear).

A therapist who genuinely gives a shit.

Someone who will celebrate your wins, sit alongside you in your hardest moments, and never expect you to pretend you’re okay when you’re not.

Most importantly, you can expect to be met with curiosity rather than judgement.

Because I don’t believe people need fixing.

I think people need understanding.

  • Fiona is amazing, she understands neurodiversity and doesn't put any pressure on me to open up, she allows each session to flow and be lead by me. I couldn't of found a more perfect therapist match if I tried!

  • I haven't had counselling in years because I couldn't find a counsellor that understood my struggles. Fiona being Autistic & ADHD has meant that I really feel seen.
